16. Dictator For A Day

We've all had those moments in which we've silently or vocally voiced an opinion on a matter that has aroused our passion. If you did have the ability, the influence, the absolute power to change the world in your personal shape, what would those changes look like?

The Day 1 changes I will implement as Australian dictator for a day are:

1. Make "Meditation" compulsory in schools

2. Ensure marriage equality by legalising "Same Sex Marriage"

3. Legalise "Euthanasia" for terminally diagnosed people to have that choice to die gracefully, peacefully, and with dignity

4. Abolish "State Governments", consolidate and strengthen "Localised Super Councils" to create greater power and decision-making at the grassroots level of government

5. Introduce a national "Indigenous Public Holiday"

6. Increase the legal "Alcohol Drinking Age" to 21

7. Reduce the annual "Defence Budget" by 10% (approximately $3 billion per annum) and reinvest the savings into research for identifying better treatments and/or cures for terminal as well as rare diseases/conditions, and mental disorders

8. Reinstate the original budget cuts and increase funding to trusted public broadcasters ABC and SBS by 10% (approximately $150 million per annum); ban any further reality TV cooking, house renovation, and singing shows; and make it compulsory to watch the sensational SBS cult dating show 'If You Are The One' :)

9. To protect and nurture our 'Blue Marble' known as Earth, increase and encourage research and investments in 'Renewable Energy', and accelerate the transition from dirty fossil fuel energy to a clean energy economy

10. Legislate to ban mobile phones at breakfast, lunch, dinner time, and sex, I mean, bed time!

11. To learn and appreciate the value of commitment to service in our community, all school aged children 10 years and over must actively participate in voluntary community services activities for several hours a week

And finally, legislate to enable me to be dictator for a second day, and implement further changes...
