Go With Grace, Prime Minister

OUR captain  of  ‘‘Team Australia’’, Tony Abbott, is willing to be blown out of the prime ministership rather than step down with decorum and dignity. 

 

By refusing to relinquish the office of prime minister, Mr Abbott risks further political instability and damaging the  chances of a Coalition victory at the next election.

 

If Mr Abbott is genuine in listening and heeding the views of the Australian public, there is one message that is loud and clear – we no longer want you as the leader of our country. 

 

Mr Abbott’s position has become untenable, both within his own party and  for the majority of the Australian public. For the party’s sake, and for the country’s sake, I believe it is time the Prime Minister departed with grace.
