Personal Beliefs Shouldn't Decide!

IRELAND has  voted ‘‘Yes’’ for the legalisation of same-sex marriage: It is now  time Australia did likewise.

The political debate on same sex marriage should   not be clouded by a politician’s personal religious beliefs.

A politician’s ‘‘conscience vote’’ is not necessarily reflective of their constituents’ majority view, but of their own.

I would expect my elected parliamentary representative to vote on what the majority of their constituents’ desire, and not just their personal beliefs.

Same-sex marriage is a legal and human right.   It should have nothing to do with misguided and discriminatory religious beliefs.
